4.2 Analysing composition
I chose a piece of work by Hinke Schreuders.
Dutch born artist Hinke Schreuders, uses either photos or original magazine pictures from the 50’s and 60’s, which she secures to linen due to their fragile nature. She then embellishes them using colourful embroidery thread, turning them into enchanting pieces of art. The subjects for her work are mainly females and her theme is exploring femininity through vulnerability and identity.*
